Friends and fans packed out the spacious venue, including Cam’ron, Trey Songz, and model Amina Blue. After attendees got to check out the new merch, the “Work” artist hit the stage, and was joined by Killa Cam for a lit performance. Dean also did his thing on the turntables, making for a special set of his bangers. Big Baby D.R.A.M. even surprised the crowd for a short performance.

Below, VIBE caught up with Dean to discuss working on Travis Scott’s Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight album, and inspiration behind the new merch.

VIBE: What was the process like working on Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight ?
Mike Dean: Birds In The Trap was crazy, Travis came out with me on the Pablo tour. I took my studio equipment from home and set it up on the back of the bus. That’s where he did his vocals.

What do you think about the album being snubbed by the Grammy’s?
It’s crazy really. It was one of the most highly-anticipated albums this year, in addition to TLOP and Blonde.

Discuss the inspiration behind the merch?
This shirt is special because my girlfriend made the artwork behind the “Shark Shirt,” which all the proceeds are donated to Oceans Unite to keep sharks from getting killed from finning.

What projects are you currently working on?
I’m doing some stuff for Kai. Me and Travis are working on another project. I’m about to go in on some other sh*t. Dice Soho, I’ve been working with him. Houston takeover hopefully. I’m going in the studio with Rick Ross, and going to executive produce Cyhi The Prynce album. His album is dope, I’m about to finish it.

Where can we cop the merch?
It’s gonna be on Fancy.com as well as my website. This shirt is my fu*k you to Donald Trump. You saw my Donald Trump song on SoundCloud. “Grab em’ By The Pu**y” shows you how great our president’s gonna be.
