Samuel Jackson Confirms "The Incredibles 2" Is On The Way
Since, like, forever fans have been begging Pixar to create a sequel to the 2004 classic, The Incredibles, and since, like, forever, fans have been told it's on the way. However, the first glimmer of truth that the film is actually happening took place over the weekend when Samuel Jackson, who played Frozone, snapped a pic of himself recording lines for the new film.
The Incredibles centers around retired superheroes Bob and Helen (Mr. Incredible and Elasti Girl) who have assumed traditional, routine lives ever since the government banned superhero activity. All of this comes to a screeching halt when Mr. Incredible is kidnapped to an island and Elasti girl, along with their equally awesome superhero kids have to go and rescue them. Frozone, whose super powers including wielding ice, plays Mr. Incredible's bestie and comes to his aid when a giant robotic monster tries to destroy their city.
“Every time I run into Brad [Bird] he always tells me Frozone is part of what’s going on [in the sequel], so I have to believe that,” Jackson told Digital Spy in 2014 about speaking with the film's director. "I guess they could be the Incredibles without Frozone, but I think Frozone would be a wonderful addition to what’s already there.”
Good to see the director included Sam Jack in this highly-anticipated sequel, but fans are going to be waiting a while. The Incredibles 2 hits theaters June 2018.
