J. Cole's New Album Is So Popular That It Got Dissed By A Hotel Chain
J. Cole's new album is so popular that it a hotel chain sent out a half-hearted diss as an advertisement.
Clearly appealing to the side of social media reviews that say that 4 Your Eyez Only lacks zeal, a Hampton Inn in Sandy Utah, tweeted about the album, to capitalize on some free publicity.
"Is the new J. Cole album putting you to sleep early? Stop on by and stay a night with us at the Hampton Inn Sandy," read a tweet posted Friday (Dec. 9).
Meanwhile, Ibrahim Hamad, Cole's best friend and president of his Dreamville Records imprint, expressed his gratitude for the "love" that the album has received, after checked those first-week sales projections.
The “False Prophets” rapper is expected to sale around 550,000 copies in week one, including streams. The number places Cole in third place for the year’s biggest sales debut behind Beyonce’s Lemonade (653,000) and Drake’s Views release (1.4 million).
