BJ The Chicago Kid Delivers The Perfect “Roses” For ‘Valentine’s Day’

You know BJ the Chicago Kid wouldn’t let Valentine’s Day pass without shelling out some romantic music for the ladies.

Over a sensual, bedroom-ready instrumental, the Chicago native digs into his bag of tricks to get a special lady inside his bedroom. “Roses pretty rare/she love to keep me going/ playing with my hair,” croons the Windy city hearthrob on the sultry number.

“Roses” comes just after the 59th Annual Grammy Awards where BJ was in attendance. On Sunday evening (Feb.12), BJ was nominated for Best R&B Performance for his track, “Turning Me Up,” Best Traditional R&B Performance, “Woman’s World,” and Best R&B album, for In My Mind. While BJ walked away empty handed, he still remains as one of the top vocalists of the 2000s. BJ lost to Solange’s “Cranes in the Sky” in the Best R&B Performance category and Lalah Hathaway for her Lalah Hathaway Live project and for her song, “Angel.”
