Chyna Gibson Identified As The Fifth Transgender Woman Killed In 2017

The drag performer was shot and killed during Mardi Gras in New Orleans over the weekend.

Family and friends are mourning the loss of popular performer Chyna Doll Dupree Gibson, the fifth transgender woman to be killed in 2017. Gibson was fatally shot in New Orleans Saturday evening (Feb. 25) while she was in town celebrating Mardi Gras.

Nola reports multiple gunshots were heard at the 4300 block of Downman Road, outside of a shopping center around 8:30 p.m. Gibson was found between two parked cars and pronounced dead at the scene. Gibson was born Walter Flemming but was known widely as Gibson on and off stage. Her surprising dance moves and on-stage persona made her popular in local LGBTQ inner B/HAP (ball and house pageant) cirlces.

Texas advocacy group Black Trans Women, Inc., released a statement on Gibson. "Chyna Gibson had gone home to New Orleans to like thousands of other people, celebrate Mardi Gras and be with her family during that festive time," it reads. "Instead, she was brutally murdered.  Shot ten times and left to die in the parking lot of a New Orleans strip mall. BTWI would like to express our condolences to Chyna's family, friends and all who loved her.  She was well known in the pageant and ballroom community as Chyna Doll Dupree, and she will be missed."

Congresswoman Shelia Jackson Lee, D-Houston, also released a statement on Facebook condemning the shooting. "The senseless murder of our trans sisters and brothers is something we simply cannot continue to ignore! I offer my deepest condolences to her friends and family. We say your name #ChynaGibson," she said. "To my LGBT brothers and sisters as the Ranking Member of the House Judiciary subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security, and Investigations - I will not stop fighting on your behalf. Your lives matter. #ChynaGibson."

Gibson's death comes days after the death of Keke Collier of Chicago. The 24-year-old also known as Tiara Richmond, was the fourth trans woman killed this year and also the third black victim after stylist Mesha Caldwell and 23-year-old Jo Jo Striker. An unidentified friend also spoke out about Gibson and the special light she possessed. "She was just a really good person," the friend said. "Everyone loved her. This is unnecessary."

The New Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office hasn't named Gibson the victim of the shooting but friends identified the budding star while leading tributes on social media in her honor.

No suspects have been named in the shooting.

Diddy Cries While Speaking On Celebrating Mother’s Day Without Kim Porter

With Mother’s Day coming up, Diddy and his children are preparing to endure yet another holiday without their beloved matriarch, Kim Porter. In an emotional audio recording from Diddy’s interview with Essence magazine, the 49-year-old single father breaks down in tears while speaking about Porter.

“This Mother’s Day is gonna hurt,” Diddy told Dream Hampton in the 20-minute recording released Thursday (May 9). “We’re definitely gonna celebrate all the mothers but you know honestly...anybody that’s lost a mother, lost a soulmate, it takes time. They say time heals all wounds [but] when it comes to your mother, or mothers, I don’t think that’s the case. And that's not a negative thing because as people we need wounds...you need something to sting you sometimes, to keep you on point. [To] teach you a lesson.”

Diddy began to get emotional when expressing the pain that he's been experiencing and praising the strength of black mothers. “I don’t know what I’m gonna do. I’m gonna figure something out, though. This hurts so much. I know that people want to hear like, the good stuff...[but] it hurts. It ain’t no way around that.

“When it comes to the category of who’s the strongest beings on the face of the earth, it would have to be black mothers,” the mogul said through tears. “I don’t think anybody could ever understand how hard it is to be a black mother.”

Diddy and Porter had three biological children together, son Christina and twins Jessie and Delilah Combs. The former couple were very much a blended family that included Porter’s son, Quincy Brown, and Diddy’s son and daughter, Justin and Chance Combs.

Despite being broken up, Porter and Diddy remained close friends. In fact, Porter’s last few posts on Instagram was a message wishing Diddy a happy birthday and a photo of him and their children which she captioned “Love.”

The 47-year-old model and actress died last November following a fatal bout with pneumonia. Listen to Diddy's tearful interview below (fast-forward to the 7:40 mark to hear his words).

Car Reported Stolen In Case Of Missing 4-Year-Old Girl Found In Texas Parking Lot

Authorities in Texas have located the car reported stolen by the stepfather of 4-year-old Maleah Davis who has been missing since last week. The gray Nissan Altima was discovered by a taxi driver in the parking lot of a Houston suburb Thursday (May 9).

The car was unlocked with no noticeable damage, according to the Associated Press. Maleah’s stepfather, Darion Vence, claims that she was kidnapped by two men in a pickup truck. However, Houston police say Vence’s story has changed several times and that they are now unable to get in contact with him. He is currently a “person of interest” in the case.

Vence told authorities that he was approached by unidentified men after he pulled over to fix a flat tire while on his way to pick up Maleah’s mother, Brittany Bowens, from the airport last Friday (May 3). He maintained that the men knocked him unconscious and abducted him and the children. He went on to say that the men eventually let him and his son go free but disappeared with Maleah. Vence reported Maleah missing a day later.

Bowens, who was at the scene when the missing vehicle was discovered, was seen on her hands and knees and in tears. “Where is my baby?” she was heard saying.

Last summer, Maleah and her two brothers were placed in the custody of Child Protective Services after Maleah suffered a head injury that led to multiple brain surgeries. The children's relatives were caring for them before they were returned to their parents in February, although CPS continued to monitor the children. Bowens has denied allegations that Maleah was being physically abuses.

The remaining children have since been removed from the custody of Bowens and Vence who are banned from contacting them.

50 Cent Calls Out Jackie Long Over Alleged Loan

50 Cent is back at it again. Fif hopped on Instagram on Thursday (May 9) to call out ATL actor Jackie Long, claiming he owes him money.

It all started when 50 posted a photo of Long on Instagram, looking to collect on Long's alleged debt. "This punk a** n***a @jackielong better give me my money. You on BET now you can have mine by Monday fool," Fif wrote.

Long quickly caught wind of 50's trolling tactics and hit back with a similar post on his Instagram account, except he claimed 50 was the one who owed money. "N***a I gave you $250k you bitch about what n***a?" He wrote in response.

"Jackie interest Jackie you gotta pay me, puff was gonna kill you fool. I saved your life," 50 Cent in a rebuttal post.

It's unclear what loan they are referring to or how much the debt is. Nevertheless, this whole situation seems a lot like 50's other money drama with Teairra Mari. The singer owes 50 more than $100,000 after she lost a revenge porn lawsuit against the rapper.

Check out all the drama below.
