Jidenna, D.M.C, Michael B. Jordan Join The Roots For "Evolution Of Greatness" All-Star Introduction

What a way to kick off the East vs. West game.

The 2017 East vs. West game at the 2017 All-Star Weekend was a show in itself, and the incredible "Evolution Of Greatness" introductory performance, led by the legendary Roots crew, set the tone for the evening.

"We live in a culture that has always been obsessed with one age-old question: who's the best?" said Black Thought to open up the set, which took the viewers on a journey of basketball's evolution through eras, and featured dancers doing dance moves that were popular during the time period.

Wondaland artist Jidenna introduced the early-1950s era of the game, while Hamilton star Daveed Diggs rhymed about the flavor and open inclusiveness of the 1970s time period. DJ Jazzy Jeff scratched some sounds on the 1's and 2's while Darryl "DMC" McDaniels rapped about the basketball stars of the 1980s, and Michael B. Jordan discussed the "bosses" of the 1990s.

"Greatness is simplicity. Greatness is style. Greatness is superstar. Greatness is power. Greatness is here and now," sounded off each star before Black Thought introduced the current superstars of the game, the All-Star line-up representing the East and West coasts.

What a memorable introduction to a nearly 200-point game. Check out the full

Kylie Jenner Doubles Down On Being Crowned A "Self Made" Billionaire

The premise of "self-made" and its interpretation when it comes to privileged celebrities has been a huge debate. When Kylie Jenner was named Forbes' youngest self-made billionaire, debates were raised due to her timeline in the limelight and her wealthy family. The 21-year-old defended her title, explaining how she doesn't fall into any ofter category.

"There’s really no other word to use other than self-made because that is the truth," she said in Q&A with Interview Magazine's German edition. "That is the category that I fall under," she started.

She acknowledged how her fan base equated to her success but refuted claims that she used her family's money to jump-start her wildly successful Kylie Cosmetics line.

"Although, I am a special case because before I started Kylie Cosmetics, I had a huge platform and lots of fans. I did not get money from my parents past the age of 15. I used 100 percent of my own money to start the company, not a dime in my bank account is inherited… and I am very proud of that."

Earlier this month (March 5) the mother-of-one officially surpassed Mark Zuckerberg as the youngest person to reach billionaire status, when Kylie Cosmetics hit a billion dollars in revenue.
