Justin Timberlake, John Legend & Sting Were The Musical Highlights Of 2017 Oscars

Justin Timberlake’s red carpet photo bombs at the 2017 Oscars are still being talked about, but more importantly, J.T.’ performance of his nominated hit single, “Can’t Stop the Feeling,” is too. Not everyone was on the bandwagon but J.T. certainty shook things up when he hit the stage — all suited and booted.

He added some soul to the set with a rousing cover of Bill Withers’ “Lovely Day” worked into his performance. “I know you know this, Denzel,” Timberlake cracked to the acclaimed actor as he was getting down to business. During the show, Sting delivered a spine tingling solo acoustic version of his Oscar-nominated piano ballad “The Empty Chair.”

Our favorite performance came from one John Legend — who did his best to keep Chrissy awake, but failed — it didn’t matter, thoughm becayuse the singer had the crowd in their feelings with a somber rendition of “City of Stars.” Legend’s tune went on to take home an Oscar for Best Original Song not long after he got offstage.

John Legend
