Migos Had An Awkward Reaction To iLoveMakonnen Coming Out

Uh-oh, Migos have some explaining to do.

iLoveMakonnen bravely came out as gay on social media in Jan. 2017, and he received a supportive and warm response by fans and many others. The Migos, however were not that impressed. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the group made some pretty insensitive comments regarding Makonnen's sexual orientation, and it's bound to get them in trouble.

Rolling Stone writer Jonah Weiner briefly detailed a moment in his candid interview with the rap trio, in which he mentioned Makonnen's coming out. That mention then led to what Weiner described as "an awkward interlude." And when he informed them that fans supported his announcement, Offset replied, "That’s because the world is fu**ed up." Takeoff added, "This world is not right." While Quavo asserted that they have "nothing wrong with the gays," he suggested that Makonnen's outing "undermines" his credibility as an artist.

In the past couple of months, the "T-Shirt" rappers have reached peak success. With their steady position on top of the charts for "Bad & Boujee" and the great reviews of their recent project Culture, the rap trio is living lavish. But their time on top may come crashing down, or at least challenged by the LGBT community for their latest statements. Migos have yet to respond to the Rolling Stone story.

UPDATE:
The Migos took to Twitter Wednesday evening (Feb. 8) to publish their thoughts on a Rolling Stone interview that revealed their views on iLoveMakonnen's sexual orientation.

"We are all fan's of Makonnens music and we wish he didn't feel like he ever had to hide himself," the statement reads. "We feel the world is fu**ed up that people feel like they have to hide and we're asked to comment on someone's sexuality."

Chris Brown Confirms Summer Tour With Nicki Minaj

Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj are hitting the road. The duo will team up for an upcoming U.S. tour set to kick off this summer, Brown confirmed via social media Friday (April 19) after Variety reported that the tour would begin in the fall.

A potential Sept. 13 concert at New Jersey’s Prudential Center was added to the venue's website and later deleted. The site listed Brown as the marquee act, while Minaj was a featured performer.

Besides going on tour together, Minaj makes an appearance on Brown’s newly released single “Wobble Up,” which also features G-Eazy. The track is the latest music collaboration from Brown and Minaj who have worked together a few times over the years.

News of the joint tour comes a day after it was reported that Minaj parted ways with her longtime management team. The “Gonja Burns” rapper was originally billed to hit the road with Future for the North American leg of her Queen tour but the jaunt was cancelled due to scheduling conflicts. The Queens native recently finished up her European tour with Juice WRLD as her special guest.

Last Sunday, Minaj took the stage as a surprise guest for week one of Ariana Grande’s headlining set at the 2019 Coachella Valley Music Festival. It’s unclear if she will hit the stage when Grande returns to perform for week two of Coachella on April 21.

Report: Ariana Grande Got Paid Twice As Much As Beyoncé For Coachella

Update: 12:42 pm ET (April 19, 2019) - There are conflicting reports regarding the earnings that Beyonce obtained for her Coachella performance. According to The Blast's sources, the singer received approximately the same amount as Ariana Grande.

This story is developing.

Original story below...

As fans continue to marvel at Beyonce's historical Coachella performance in the Netflix documentary, Homecoming, a new report about the pay discrepancy amongst the festival's headliners is also grabbing people's attention. According to Variety, Ariana Grande got paid double of what Bey earned for her performance.

Grande reportedly made $8 million from the festival, while Beyoncé only took home an estimated $3 to $4 million.

This certainly seems a little odd to fans due to a handful of reasons. For one, Beyoncé is a much more seasoned artist. Additionally, her headlining show, also known as BeyChella, was a historical moment that drew millions of viewers.

Grande also made history this year as the youngest artist to ever headline the three-day event, but the U.S. pay gap may have more to do with the huge difference between their paychecks. Black women make approximately 65 cents to every dollar earned by their white male counterparts. By contrast, white women earn 83 cents to every dollar earned by white men, according to the Pew Research Center.

"It was always in my head that this was going to be something that helped raise money for environmental issues, but I didn’t really know the facts. I looked into it and was blown away."
