A Tribe Called Quest Speaks To The People In "Dis Generation" Video
R.I.P. Phife Dawg.
After notching their first number one album in 18 years with We Got It From Here... Thank You For Your Service, A Tribe Called Quest returns with the visuals to their socially conscious record "Dis Generation." The black and white video features appearances from all members of the Tribe, including Phife, whose presence was felt in the form of a moving mural---plus frequent collaborator Busta Rhymes.
Fans are treated to a birds-eye-view clip, produced by Atlanta director Hiro Murai, as the cameras follow each artist in an attempt to paint the picture of America today. The smooth track includes a plethora of sports references from the late Phife Dawg. He compares the dynamic duo of himself and Q-Tip to John Wall and Chris Paul, stating that they are the point guards of the rap game. Phife even gave his beloved New Yotk Jets a shoutout, playing on the fact that he has been waiting for New York city to legalize weed longer than Gang Green's last Super Bowl victory in 1969.
