While On Tour, Big Sean Hosts Workshops To Help Students Through His Mogul Prep Initiative
"These are jobs that, coming out of high school, are lucrative careers, and also careers that last longer than a performer's career," said the 28-year-old.
As Big Sean kicks off his energetic "I Decided Tour," the Detroit native will drop valuable gems along the way. Middle and high school students will have the opportunity of a lifetime to pick up life lessons in workshops at four April stops during the tour through the Mogul Prep initiative, which was launched by the 28-year-old and his mother Myra Anderson, a former educator.
The Sean Anderson Foundation was established in 2012 with the goal of aiding the youth in Detroit. Recent accomplishments through the platform include building a studio at Sean's old high school and donating $25,000 to Wayne State University. The Mogul Prep initiative will look to inspire students and serve as a gateway to build successful careers in the entertainment industry.

"It's a cool idea to show students all the ins and outs of the industry," the Roc Nation member tells Rolling Stone. "These are jobs that, coming out of high school, are lucrative careers, and also careers that last longer than a performer's career."
At each of the stops listed below, Big Sean and a team of music industry experts will offer students opportunities and lessons from the Mogul Prep curriculum. The group will also conduct an industry discussion panel focusing on what it means to be a mogul, and expose students to the ins and outs of various music careers.
“I am grateful to be able to provide an educational program that today's students can easily relate to. Mogul Prep is relevant and real world. I hope students enjoy Mogul Prep, and most importantly, I hope it helps them reach the success that they are meant for,” Sean said.
“As a former teacher I know how difficult it is for teachers to develop lesson plans that consistently keep students actively engaged and are aligned to core standards. I also know how powerful providing students with a relevant and real world learning experience can be. I am happy to say that Mogul Prep solves both of these problems,” said Myra Anderson.
