Future Reveals Ciara Decreased His Drug Usage While They Were A Couple

To say that Future and Ciara have had a rocky road since their 2014 break-up is an understatement, but despite their tumultuous custody battle and a slew of reports containing DNA links of lawsuits—there’s more to their story the public isn’t privy to.

In a recent interview with Billboard, the “Mask Off” rapper revealed that his ex-fiancee and mother of his youngest son, Future Zahir Wilburn, reportedly set strict boundaries when it came to his drug usage. The Atlanta native has rapped about an affinity for cannabis-infused blunts, codeine and a bevy of other narcotics. “They had me going the cornball route!” he quipped.

Although he went through a public break-up, and succumbed to strict guidelines, the HNDRXX artist says he’s content with what life has dealt him, adding that things happen for a reason.

“I’m happy with life now. I’m happy with life, period, even with the end of a ­relationship being…” he said. “I’m just not going to settle for anything, you know? Even in my life now, I know I can be a better person. I ain’t giving up on myself, so if you give up on me, I ain’t got nothing else to say for you. Because if you give up on ­something that’s real, it wasn’t real to you.”
