On Friday (March 17), Rick Ross released his much anticipated LP Rather You Than Me, which contained a Chris Rock-assisted Birdman diss as track number three titled, “Idols Become Rivals.” Thursday (March 16), a portion of the track leaked and the brash lyrics lit up social media. Rozay took to Instagram to tote his loyalty to Lil Wayne and show respect and love to one of the legendary figures of hip-hop.

Weezy showed appreciation for the kind words from his longtime collaborator and friend, thanking Rozay on Twitter for the newfound motivation to keep going.

During the Black-Metaphor produced track, the MMG president raps, “I pray you find the kindness in your heart for Wayne/ His entire life, he gave you what that was the game/ I watched this whole debacle so I’m part to blame/ Last request, can all producers please get paid?”
