Safaree Samuels Says His "Bookings Went Up" Following Remy Ma's "shETHER" Name-Drop
Many names have been dropped into the pot that is Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj's personal strain, one being Safaree Samuels. The Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood cast member took to This Is 50 to discuss the aforementioned artists' lyrical spar, and the role he would've played to cool the fire if he was still involved with Nicki's camp.
"If I was even a part of the situation, they would've been working together," he said. "That wouldn't even have happened." Prior to that statement, Samuels added that there was an upside to his name being mentioned in Remy's diss track, which proved to be profitable for the reality star. "Remy shouted me out. My bookings went up. So I wanted to give a shoutout to Remy for that," he said.
He also shared his thoughts on the newfound fame that came at the hands of the Love & Hip Hop franchise after he was no longer deemed Nicki's right hand. "I thought a lot of people knew who I was, but that show made me really realize that they didn't," he said. "The exposure that that show gave me was on another level."
Remy Ma has also remained candid on the situation, taking to national shows like Wendy Williams, and the highly popular podcast, Buzzfeed's Another Round. On the latter, the Bronx native didn't hold back her inner thoughts on a myriad of topics, including Foxy Brown's supposed retort on "Break's Over." When asked a questioned on the matter, the Grammy-nominated artist used sign language to spell out "no comment." Brown announced in 2010 that she was battling deafness.
