Isaiah Thomas Releases Statement On Death Of His Sister
"Thank you for respecting my privacy as I continue to grieve and heal..."
Boston Celtics' point-guard Isaiah Thomas has released a statement regarding his sister Chyna Thomas' death. Last Saturday (Apr. 15), the basketball star's younger sister was killed in a car accident.
"I never could have imagined a day where my little sister, Chyna, wouldn’t be here," Thomas said in a statement posted to the Boston Celtics' Twitter page Wednesday (Apr. 19). "She and my family are everything to me, so the pain I am feeling right now is impossible to put into words. This has been without question the hardest week of my life."

Thomas goes on to thank friends, family, his fans, the Boston Celtics organization, the City of Boston and the NBA community for their continued support during this difficult time.
"I truly appreciate all of the support you’ve shown me the past several days and thank you for respecting my privacy as I continue to grieve and heal with my loved ones at this time," he continues. Thomas did his best to remain composed during the Celtics' playoff game against the Chicago Bulls, which took place just one day after his sister was killed. However, it was understandably difficult for him.
Prayers going out to the Thomas family.
