Bill Cosby Says Racism Has Played A Role In His Allegations

For the first time in two years Bill Cosby gave his side of the story and spoke with Michael Smerconish on the SiriusXM POTUS channel about the “nefarious” motivations behind the nearly 60 sexual assault allegations leveled against him. On Monday, (May 15) 79-year-old Cosby said racism has played a role in the controversy.

“Well let me put it to you this way: when you look at the power structure and when you look at individuals there are some people who can very well be motivated by whether or not they’re going to work, or whether or not they’ll be able to get back at someone.”

Cosby’s 30 minutes interview came just a few hours after his daughters Erinn and Ensa released audio recordings exclusively to Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club defending their father.

“How my father is being punished by a society that still believes black men rape white women but passes off “boys will be boys” when white men are accused, and how the politics of our country prove my disgust. My father has been publicly lynched in the media,” Ensa said.

In hopes to change the narrative, Cosby also took to Twitter to profess his love for his wife of 53 years, Camille, as well as his children.

Although more than 50 women have come forward accusing The Cosby Show star of sexually assaulting them, in most of those cases the statue of limitations have passed. However, his criminal trial is set to begin in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania where he faces three counts of felony aggravated indecent assault with each count carrying a maximum of 10 years. Cosby has pled not guilty.

The 2004 case involves Andrea Constand an employee from Temple University who claims Cosby invited her to his home and then drugged and sexually assaulted her. In a 2005 deposition, Cosby admitted sexual contact with Constand, but says it was consensual.
