Fake Florida Teen Doctor Faces Prison Time For Fraud Charges
Malachi Love-Robinson set the Internet ablaze last year when at just 18 years old, he was arrested at a medical office in Florida for impersonating a doctor, sans having any type of professional medical credentials.
An undercover cop went to his “practice” and stated Love-Robinson gave him medical advice and physically examined him. Soon after, the Palm Beach County Sheriff arrested him. The now 20-year-old was also arrested last year on suspicion of fraud and larceny after he was allegedly using one of his patients’ checking accounts to use $34,000 to pay off his car payments, according to authorities.
However, that wasn’t the only time Love-Robinson was caught in the middle of legal trouble. In Stafford County, Va., he was accused of attempting to buy a $35,000 Jaguar with the co-sign of an elderly woman who was unaware of the transaction, CNN reports.
That third arrest earned him prison time. On Monday (May 22), a Stafford County judge issued him five years in prison, but four of those years were reportedly exonerated. Since Love-Robinson was originally booked in November 2016 with a year-long sentence, he’ll only serve an additional six months.
