Drake And Tory Lanez Have Evidently Patched Things Up

Right on cue for the forthcoming summer season, Drake and Tory Lanez decided to put their differences aside. In a couple of Instagram posts that surfaced on the Toronto natives’ Instagram accounts (May 18), they physically showed their support for each other, which will hopefully lead to their first collaboration.

“The city needs more of this and less of that,” Drake wrote, while Lanez simply typed, “Toronto… I Told You,” which might be a nod to his debut album of the same name.

According to XXL, the artists were at odds after Lanez allegedly said Drizzy’s nickname for their hometown, referred to as “The 6,” was “not cool.” The strain continued to increase with subliminal lyrics aimed at each other on their respective songs like Drake’s “Summer Sixteen” and Lanez’s feature on A$AP Ferg’s “Line Up the Flex.”

In a 2016 interview with HOT 97, Lanez addressed the rift and said hip-hop’s competitiveness is just part of the game.

“People have this palette about hip-hop like hip-hop is not a contact sport,” he said. “At the end of the day, there’s never going to be a personal problem…The only thing that’s going to lie in between us is that we can’t share first place, and I’m the only guy bold enough to really come and take that right now.”
