JAY-Z Is Working On Something Very Special In Marcy Projects
Well what do we have here?
JAY-Z is really enjoying playing chess (or checkers?) with fans. With the rapper's upcoming album 4:44 just a week away, visuals might be coming sooner than later to accommodate the project.
Posted to Revolt TV's instagram account Thursday (June 22), production assistants were seen working on the corner of Park Avenue and Nostrand Avenue as unreleased music from the rapper was heard in the background. Jay wasn't seen on set, which can mean a number of things.
Is it a music video, a documentary, a commercial? We're not sure, but at least we know we're getting more than an album from the rap legend.
In the days leading up to 4:44, Jay has used his platform for good. After announcing his plan to bail out incarcerated dads or Father's Day, he penned a column for The Hollywood Reporter, pushing for social justice projects from all ages and races.
"It is up to us to continue to amplify his story so that we can save a generation of kids from the same fate," he said. "His [Kalief Browder] is the kind of story that you can’t ignore, and people are starting to see that what happened to him is not an isolated case. He’s just one example in a system that is broken. We need to be the ones who fix it."
One can only hope this special project is doing just that.
