Kim Kardashian Enlists Lawyer To Work On Case Of 62-Year-Old Grandmother Serving Life Sentence

The 62-year-old grandmother who serving life for a nonviolent drug offense, is getting help from Kim Kardashian. The reality star hired lawyer Shawn Holley to work on potentially freeing Alice Marie Johnson.

In a letter published by TMZ on Wednesday (Nov. 29), Johnson thanked Kardashian for helping restore her hope of freedom.

“There are no words deep enough to express my deep and heartfelt gratitude,” she wrote in part. “Ms. Kardashian you are literally helping to save my life and restore my family. I was drowning and you have thrown me a life jacket and given me hope that this life jacket I’m serving may one day be taken off.”

Johnson, a first time offender, was convicted on drug conspiracy and money laundering charges in 1996.
