On Sept. 15 at around 10:45 p.m., Anna Chambers and her mother went to Brooklyn’s Maimonides Medical Center for a medical examination and a rape kit. Chambers accused Brooklyn South narcotics Detectives Richard Hall and Eddie Martins of rape.

At least one of the officers who showed up to the hospital, questioned the validity of her story Chambers’ lawyer, Michael David, claims.

“They came with nine cops to intimidate her and her mom, to discourage them from coming forward and reporting the rape and sex assault,” David said.

Chambers says Hall and Martins handcuffed and raped her following her arrest for marijuana possession, and forced her to perform oral sex. Last month, Hall, 33, and Martin, 37, pleaded not guilty to 50 charges including first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping.

DNA found on Chambers was linked to both cops, who claim to have had consensual sex with her. The men have since resigned from the police force, after being placed on unpaid leave.

David said that the officers who came to the hospital tried to discredit her story, An officer spoke to Chambers and her mother in their native Russian and attempted to hide his name tag, David said. She was also told by a cop that she didn’t know what she was talking about, and mistakenly identified her accused rapist.

“To me, it’s almost as outrageous as the crime that you have cops trying to intimidate her not to report the crime, trying to protect fellow cops,” David said.

The woman’s mother, ”stood firm against the cop,” according to David. A nurse reportedly encouraged them not to be intimidated by the officers, and Chambers went through with a medical examination and rape kit.

Chambers plans to add the officers to a $50 million lawsuit against the city, David said.
