Drake And Future Were The Most Streamed Artists Of 2017
Well done, gentlemen.
According to a new report from Variety, collaborators Drake and Future held down the number one and two spots, making them the most-streamed artists of 2017.
Drake brought in a reported 6 billion streams throughout the year, marking his second time as the most-streamed artist in the world, while Fewtch brought in a just-as-impressive 4.2 billion. Drake is the only artist on earth to bring in 6 billion streams in a single year.
Drizzy's highly-praised playlist More Life surpassed one billion streams alone, while Future's back-to-back albums FUTURE and HNDRXX both debuted at number one. 2017 was a record year for streaming, as the medium saw a 50 percent listener increase with 377 billion streams in total.
"Hip-Hop/Rap (20.9%) was the top genre in terms of total song consumption, with Rock close behind with 19.8% share," the report reveals.
