Viola Davis, Issa Rae And More Wear Black To The Golden Globes In Solidarity Against Inequality

Hollywood’s biggest and brightest stars wore black Sunday night (Jan. 7) to the 75th Annual Golden GlobesĀ  to make a powerful statement: the time is up on sexual harassment, assault and inequality in the workplace for women across all industries.

In late December, the Internet was a buzz as rumors began to swirl presenters and nominees would don black to the ceremony. On Jan. 2, it was revealed via in the New York Times the fashion choice was part of a larger effort to continue to fight against sexual harassment–and any harassment–towards women.

Academy Award winners Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Common, and Halle Berry along with first time Golden Globe nominee Mary J. Blige and Issa Rae who is also nominated, all dazzled on the red carpet in their black gowns.
