Live From The Kennedy Center: Watch A Trailer From Nas’ ‘Classical Hip-Hop’ Special

Back in 2014, Nas celebrated the 20-year anniversary of his debut album Illmatic by teaming up with the National Symphony Orchestra for a rare performance unlike no other. Four years later, fans will finally get a glimpse behind the scenes of that historic day in Mass Appeal’s brand new documentary, Great Performances — Nas Live From the Kennedy Center: Classical Hip-Hop.

The upcoming concert film/documentary, which is directed by Jason Goldwatch and executive produced by Nas, Anthony Saleh and Mass Appeal’s Peter Bittenbender, allows fans to relive Nasir’s grimy come-up in Queensbridge with vintage footage from the block while Nas performs hits like “N.Y. State of Mind,” “The World is Yours,” “Memory Lane (Sittin’ In Da Park)” and “It Ain’t Hard to Tell” with assistance from National Symphony Orchestra.

Mass Appeal’s documentary will premiere Feb 2 on PBS at 9 PM. Watch the trailer below.
