NFL Draft Prospect Derrius Guice Becomes The First Athlete To Sign With TDE

Top Dawg Entertainment has already conquered the music industry, and the sports world could be next. The company, founded by Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, which reps Kendrick Lamar, SZA, and Schoolboy Q to name a few, has signed its first athlete.

Derrius Guice, a 20-year-old former Louisiana State University running back, is an official member of TDE’s sports division announced Friday (Jan. 19), ESPN reports.

Earlier in the month, it was reported that Guice will forgo his senior year at LSU to enter the 2018 NFL draft, where he is expected to be first-round pick.

Joining TDE was an easy decision for the young athlete because they were first agency to reach out to him, much like LSU was first in line to offer him a scholarship. The Louisiana native also likes being the sole sports client.

“The focus is on me and my game plan, not on a ton of other guys,” he said.

TDE’s sports imprint will be based out of the company’s Los Angeles offices, and run by agent, Fadde Mikhail, who noted that Tiffith is a “huge sports fan.”

“He had a phenomenal vision to start this company and now is extending that into sports,” Mikhail said of the music executive.

Besides sports, TDE is furthering its reach into the movie business with Lamar executive producing the soundtrack for Marvel’s highly-anticipated Black Panther film out next month.
