Rita Ora Links With Charli XCX, Bebe Rexha And Cardi B For Ultimate Ladies Anthem, “Girls”

After months of being teased across social media and in interviews, Rita Ora has finally delivered “Girls,” the unprecedented ladies anthem with Charli XCX, Bebe Rexha, and Cardi B.

The LGBTQ empowering track is practically pop’s modern day “Lady Marmalade.” The all-star quadruplet sing (and rap) about loving beautiful women while embracing and uplifting their sexuality. Ora sings on the hook: “Sometimes I just wanna kiss girls, girls, girls / Red wine, I just wanna kiss girls, girls girls.” The record is a well-executed bop that stands out as one of Ora’s most memorable records for its unflinching boldness and divine musical chemistry amongst each other.

And of course, Bardi didn’t come play with you (word to Big Freedia) as she delivers the fun, yet savage bars about her love for the kitty kat. She raps: “I put this Mac on your lips, so pucker up/We ain’t never heard of you, you ain’t done enough/And I don’t gotta introduce myself/I’m too sexy, I seduce myself/Seven figure, never need a ni**a/Steal your bi**h, have her down with the scissors/Tonight, I don’t want a dog, I want a kitten/I might French a girl from Great Britain.”

During an interview on the UK’s 95-106 Capital FM, Ora said she held on to the song for two years despite performing an early version at her shows. “I’m at the point where I don’t even know anymore. I’ve had this song in my back pocket for two years,” she explained to Roman Kemp on Capital Breakfast. “There was a moment where this song wasn’t going to be released as a single. And I looked at my friends and I spoke to them. They kept asking for it because I performed it once a while back and they were like ‘what’s that song that you performed and people kept asking me ‘what’s girls, what’s girls’ and I just said you know what? My gut is telling me to go with this song next.”

Ora added, “Cardi B who is a feature on it was the first person on the record a few years ago. I got Cardi on the song about a year and a half ago. And then I got Charli and I got Bebe and it really naturally just became a song of just girls that I really love and inspire me in their own ways and it just became my dream collaboration and here we are.”

“Girls” is now available for streaming and purchase on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, and Tidal now. Check out the animated lyric video designed by Everybody’s Favorite below.
