‘Kids See Ghosts’: Kanye West And Kid Cudi’s Album Debuts At Number Two
It looks like the G.O.O.D times continue to roll for Kanye West and his G.O.O.D Music cohorts. According to Billboard, West and Kid Cudi’s collaborative album Kids See Ghosts debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 Album charts.
The effort, which was released on Jun. 8, sold at equivalent of 142,000 units, with 79,000 of that sum in traditional album sales. It finishes just behind Dave Matthews Band’s recent release, Come Tomorrow. Kids See Ghosts is the first collaborative album by the duo, who recorded the LP under the same name.
KSG was the third of several G.O.O.D Music releases through the months of May and June. To kick off the very musical summer, Pusha T released DAYTONA, which debuted at number 3. West released his eighth solo project, ye, which debuted at the chart’s top slot. Additionally, West fully produced Nas’ highly-anticipated album NASIR this past Friday (Jun. 15), and Teyana Taylor’s unnamed sophomore project is slated to drop this Friday (Jun. 22).
“The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA),” writes Billboard. “The new June 23-dated chart (where Dave Matthews Band debuts at No. 1) will be posted in full on Billboard’s websites on Tuesday, June 19.”
