Love is a drug that only a few of us have fallen victim to and for Indonesian pop sensation Agnez Mo, the addiction is real.
With a social following of over 35 million and numerous multi-platinum hits, the songstress has been gearing up to globally premiere upbeat duet, “Overdose” with Chris Brown. Teaming with Brown, the track chronicles the addictive quality of their relationship, comparing their love to a once in a lifetime high.
She’s my medication for my heartbreak Oh, I need her,
She rehabilitates me,
But I’m still addicted, yeah, to her.
“Overdose” is the lead single to Mo’s soon to be released project. After months of teasers and promo by Mo and Breezy, the single quickly secured the top spot on Apple Music Indonesia within hours of its release. Given the undeniable chemistry between the two, Mo’s music is sure to leave its mark on the states.
Mo toys around with the idea of a project with Brown while sharing how their collaboration came to be.
“This project started as a passion project. We just kinda kick it in the studio and see what we come up with. It’s free. It’s all art. We didn’t overthink it. Everything just flows.” the pop singer told VIBE.
“After a few weeks, we both realized that we had more than enough songs to make a full album together. This is just the beginning. Chris picked this song as the first song to share to our fans, and I really hope everyone will like this as much as we do.”
Mo has been steadily creating waves in the U.S. since the release of X, her first full-length international project in October of last year. Shortly after, she was also featured on the deluxe edition of Chris Brown’s 2017 project, Heartbreak On The Moon.
Stream “Overdose” below and on all streaming platforms worldwide Friday (July 27).
