Stevie Wonder, The Clark Sisters And More To Perform At Aretha Franklin’s Funeral

The music industry lost an irreplaceable voice and musician when Aretha Franklin died. Deservingly known as the Queen of Soul, the 76-year-old will be laid to rest in her hometown of Detroit on Friday, Aug. 31, and music’s biggest and best will take the stage to honor Franklin one last time.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Franklin’s funeral services will take place at 10 AM at Greater Grace Temple, 23500 W. Seven Mile Road in Detroit on the west side of the city. There will be two viewings prior to the actual service.

The list of entertainers who’ll pay tribute to Franklin earned the singer’s respect and admiration. The singers include Faith Hill, Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Hudson, Ronald Isley, Chaka Khan, Fantasia, Yolanda Adams, Shirley Caesar, The Clark Sisters, Jennifer Holiday.

Tasha Cobbs-Leonard, Marvin Sapp, The Williams Brothers, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Audrey DuBois Harris, Alice McAllister Tillman, Edward Franklin, Aretha Franklin Orchestra and the  Aretha Franklin Celebration Choir will also perform.

A Mary Kay national director reportedly asked owners of pink Cadillacs to park their iconic cars in front of the church also as an homage to the soul singer.

Franklin’s final resting place will be at Woodlawn Cemetary, where she’ll be buried alongside her siblings and father Rev. C.L. Franklin. As of now, there’s no word on whether or not it will be live streamed for the public.
