Travis Scott Had Nothing To Do With Cropping Trans Model Out Of ‘Astroworld’ Cover

Travis Scott received major backlash from his fanbase after he seemingly cropped transgender model Amanda Lepore out of the original artwork for his latest album Astroworld. Despite earlier reports, the rapper’s team is claiming that he was not responsible for the reported edit.

As previously reported, the original Dave LaChapelle-shot cover featured Lepore straddling a foreign object in the left corner of the photo. Just two days before the album dropped, a new cover was released, in which fans noticed the model had disappeared. Many labeled the move transphobic, but Travis Scott’s team assures that is not the case.

According to TMZ, LaChappelle gave Trav the final version, which didn’t include Lepore; no one instructed the artist to crop her out of the frame, and the motive has not be disclosed.

It was great being part of @david_lachapelle s incredible photograph of @travisscott s albulm cover but I’m curious why I’m not on the picture @travisscott posted 💋❤️💄 #amandalepore #glamourgirl A girl can’t help it❗️Too distracting for the eyes ❗️Upstaged everyone in the photograph ❗️Oh well……….. While fans still have their opinions about the debacle, it seems that Lepore isn’t upset one bit. “A girl can’t help it! I’m too distracting for the eyes! I upstaged everyone in the photograph,” she told TMZ following the incident. “Oh well … I love David LaChapelle and Travis Scott! Love and kisses.”

Drama aside, Travis Scott’s third studio album Astroworld is currently available on all streaming sites.
