Watch Birdman Apologize To Lil Wayne At Lil Weezyana Fest
Birdman is again making amends with Lil Wayne, only this time he took it to Tunechi’s own turf. The Cash Money Record boss issued a public apology to Wayne during the Lil Weezyana Fest in New Orleans Saturday (Aug. 25).
“I don’t know what ya’ll know,” Birdman told the crowd inside Champion Square. “But I know what the f**k I know, and I know how I feel about what I know. I knew this day was gon’ come, but I didn’t know when it was gon’ come,” he said before praising Weezy as the “realist” and the “illest.”
“I wanted to apologize to my n**ga worldwide,” he continued. “That n**ga put his life in my hands and I’m real with that n**ga, we gon’ do that s**t ’til the day we die. It’s YMCMB for death.”
Wayne celebrated the 10-year anniversary of Tha Carter III at this year’s Lil Weezyana Fest along with surprise guests, including Nicki Minaj. Meanwhile, Birdman’s public show of respect seemingly proves that Wayne and Cash Money are on good terms, after the rapper settled a $51 million lawsuit against the label in June.
Weezy’s payout is believed to be north of $10 million. “The matter has been amicably resolved to the satisfaction of all parties. In terms of the particulars, we’re prohibited legally from saying anything further,” Wayne’s lawyer, Ron Sweeney, confirmed to Billboard. “I can say that my client is happy. He is his own man, a man that owns his assets, his music and himself. At some point, Wayne will let his fans know what’s going to happen next.”
