Watch August Greene’s Captivating Performance of “No Apologies” On Jimmy Fallon Live

Music

August Greene’s (Common, Robert Glasper, Kareem Riggins) self-titled debut is certainly one of the more soulful and elegant releases of a star-studded 2018. Seeing them live certainly drives this home as the band delivered a captivating set last night (Aug. 13) on The Tonight Show w/ Jimmy Fallon, performing the blunt and politically-charged groove, “No Apologies”.

After Fallon introduced the group, Glasper and Riggins set the scene on the drums and keyboard. From there, Common and company leapt into action amid a blue, green, and red lit backdrop. And one could tell that the Chi-Town spitter certainly felt the moment, as his animated stage presence made for an electrifying performance.

Meanwhile, the three-time Grammy winning pianist Glasper is making headlines himself after delivering some scalding-hot tea about working with Lauryn Hill in a recent interview with Houston’s 97.9 The Box. After he was asked about walking away from “egotistical” artists, without hesitation he boldly called out L-Boogie, claiming that she “likes to fire bands” without a moment’s notice, and alleging that she “stole all my friends’ music,” as it pertains to the making of her groundbreaking debut, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.

While August Greene is now available on all streaming services and digital marketplaces, fans can cop the forthcoming vinyl edition this Friday on Aug. 17 exclusively on Amazon. You can pre-order your copy right here.
