XXXTentacion’s ‘?’ Album Goes Platinum

The cliché “they don’t miss you until you’re gone” must be true. At least in XXXTentacion’s case. The late rapper’s ? album reached platinum status on Aug. 7. This comes after records “Jocelyn Flores” and “Fu*k Love” went platinum on June 26 and July 19, respectively. His hit single “Sad” also went platinum back in April.

X signed a $10 million deal with Empire Distribution before he was murdered. And there was also new music that accompanied the deal. However, a clause in the contract prevents the music from being released until October.

The South Florida rapper was shot and killed on June 18 in Deerfield Beach, Fla. after leaving a RIVA Motorsports store. Three men were previously arrested in connection to the murder and on Aug. 7.  A fourth suspect was arrested nearly two months after X’s murder.

Trayvon Newsome, Robert Allen, Michael Boatwright and Dedrick Williams have all been charged with first-degree murder. Newsome, the latest suspect to be arrested, has also been charged with robbery with a deadly weapon.
