Bruno Mars Will Reportedly Play Prince In Upcoming Netflix Biopic

Movies & TV

Bruno Mars has reportedly been asked to play Prince in an upcoming Netflix Original about the late sensation’s life.

After Bruno delivered an amazing tribute in honor of The Prince of Funk at the 2017 Grammy Awards, it’s been more than clear that Mr. Mars is pop-funk’s greatest prodigy.

Bruno is a huge fan of Prince’s work, and a Netflix told The Mirror about the possibility of him playing the role of his idol. “It will probably be the most nerve-racking move of his career if it happens,” said the source. “He’s at the top of Netflix wish list so they are hoping he will come on board.”

Though Bruno has expressed an early interest in acting, it is not yet a path he’s explored. Currently, the “That’s What I Like” singer is on the road for his 24k Magic World Tour, but that’s unlikely to lessen the feasibility of this brand new venture.

“Prince was one of his idols so to take on a hefty role like that, especially as a debut acting move, would be full on,” the source said.

The 24k Magic World Tour is set to close out in Hawaii this November. Bruno’s team and Prince’s estate have yet to respond to the rumors.
