Childish Gambino Suspends “This Is America” Tour After Foot Injury

Music News

Childish Gambino has reportedly postponed several dates on the North American trek of his This Is America Tour after suffering from a foot injury.

Fam Rothstein, co-principal of the creative collective, Wolf + Rothstein (the collective has a partnership with Childish), announced the unfortunate news on Twitter on Tuesday (Sept. 25). “This is America tour is postponed, not cancelled,” Rothstein tweeted. “My guy played through the pain, but has to sit some dates out. Back before the years over.’

It’s unclear how many dates will be postponed. Gambino has already cancelled his tour stop at The Forum in Inglewood, CA on Sept. 26. He is reportedly scheduled for eleven more dates, wrapping up his final concert at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Oct. 12. The rapper is also expected to perform at three concerts in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, although it is unclear if those stops will be suspended as well.

Gambino is believed to have suffered the injury prior to his Dallas show on Sept. 23, according to TMZ. Sources said the artist arrived in a wheelchair and a leg brace to his set at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Vegas on Sept. 21, before powering through his performance.

As previously reported, the “Redbone” artist is wrapping up his final days under the Childish Gambino moniker. “If you bought a ticket to this concert, that means you bought a ticket to the last Childish Gambino tour ever,” he said on stage at Madison Square Garden earlier this month.
