Ella Mai Wows Viewers In “Trip” Video

Ella Mai snuggles by a warm fire and rides through her city in a sensual performance of “Trip.”

The “Boo’d up” singer recently released (Sept. 18) the video for her second single on Youtube, where she can be seen sporting an oversized sweater in a candlelit room. On the DJ Mustard-produced track, the singer-songwriter apologizes for tripping as she sings, “my bad my bad for tripping on you.”

The Britsh singer has achieved major success with her sultry voice, bringing back genuine emotion to R&B. With “Boo’d Up” springing the 23-year old singer forward into mainstream success, “Trip” is the much-needed follow-up single to solidify her place as an R&B prodigy. This is Mai’s second summer single to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in 2018 and unlike “Boo’d Up,” “Trip” gives fans a more vulnerable side of the Interscope Record’s artist as she sings above the sounds of an expertly played piano.

Late last month (Aug. 30), Jacquees premiered a “quemix” of Mai’s current hit. The Georgia native flipped the songstress’ lyrics singing, “I could be the perfect young ni**a for ya/ Baby girl, your love got me trippin’ on you/ You know my love is big enough, got you trippin’ on me/ Yeah it’s big enough got you trippin’ on me,” in the fan-approved version of the popular song.
