The Internet continues to discuss the high-profile altercation between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj’s entourage. R&B singer Kelly Rowland witnessed the incident first hand as a fellow attendee of the Harper’s Bazaar ICONS party at New York Fashion Week, and thinks that both women are too talented to be fighting, especially in a time when feminism is thriving.
“I think in a time where Serena Williams is fighting for equality—I love both Nicki Minaj and Cardi B and I think that they are extremely talented—and in a time when she is fighting for women’s equality, we just can’t be fighting,” she told E! News.
“There’s no time for us as women to fight,” she continued, “and they are just so talented and I just genuinely love them both so much, but it’s just not the time. We have way bigger issues as women, you know what I mean? So I don’t know. I’m Switzerland, I don’t f**king know.”
The incident reportedly stemmed from Cardi’s allegations that Nicki “favorited” rude comments about Cardi’s parenting skills. Nicki revealed on her Beats1 show Queen Radio on Monday (Sept. 10) that she would never speak ill of someone else’s child. However, she also said that Cardi has built a career off of “sympathy” and “payola.”
