Maroon 5 Tapped To Perform At 2019 Super Bowl Halftime

The Super Bowl halftime headliner has been announced, and it’s garnering mixed reviews from sports and music fans alike. Maroon 5 has been tapped to perform at the NFL’s biggest game day, Billboard confirms.

A rep for the NFL decline to comment on the reports. “It’s a Super Bowl tradition to speculate about the performers for the Pepsi Halftime Show. We are continuing to work with Pepsi on our plans but do not have any announcements to make on what will be another epic show,” the rep said in a statement released on Wednesday (Sept. 19).

The band, which is led by vocalist Adam Levine, will follow behind a long list of notable performers, including Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Bruno Mars, and more.

Maroon 5’s Super Bowl halftime show also opens the door to a handful of surprises. Their most recent hit single, “Girls Like You,” features hip-hop sensation, Cardi B, so it’s quite possible the Bronx native could make a cameo on the big stage. Maroon 5’s discography also features a series of collaboration with hip-hop artists, including Kendrick Lamar, SZA, and more.

The band is currently on the road, promoting their 2017 album, Red Pill Blues. The group will touch down for the Super Bowl at the new Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Feb. 3.
