Michelle Williams To Address Mental Health Battle In New Reality Show

Movies & TV

Michelle Williams is opening up her private life for a new reality series. The Grammy winner and her fiancé, Chad Johnson, are set to star in and executive produce Michelle & Chad, an unscripted series debuting on the OWN network in November.

The show will chronicle the former Destiny’s Child singer and pastor “navigating the road from engagement to marriage,” the network announced Thursday (Sept. 20). Each hourlong episode will offer a candid look into the path to matrimony as the pair — who have been together for a year but never lived in the same city — move to Los Angeles in the months ahead of their wedding.

Williams and Johnson may be moving together, but they don’t plan on sharing the same bed. As the press release notes, the duo are “guided by their faith and unwavering values” and have chosen to remain celibate until “after they are wed.”

The series, which was originally announced over the summer, tackles a host of “real issues” including the Chicago native’s “high-profile battle with mental health issues,” and lessons learned in pre-marital counseling sessions.

Michelle & Chad debuts Nov. 3 on at 9 p.m. EST.
