Music News

Nelly has reached a mutual settlement with the woman who was suing him for rape, TMZ reports. The rapper and accuser, Monique Greene, reportedly agreed to drop the case on Thursday (Sept. 27).

Greene originally accused Nelly of inviting her back to his tour bus following an appearance at a Seattle nightclub in Oct. 2017. Greene alleged the rapper forced her to perform oral sex on him before raping her. After yelling for him to stop, Greene said the rapper kicked her off the bus, throwing a $100 bill at her on the way out.

The “Hot In Herre” rapper has adamantly denied the alleged rap,  He contending that the interaction between him and Greene was consensual. The St. Louis rapper filed a countersuit against Greene, claiming the she was attempting to slander his character.

“Nelly recognizes the need for women who are victims of sexual assault of any kind to be heard and our existing systems changed,” Nelly’s lawyer, Scott Rosenblum said in a statement. “However, this type of reckless false allegation cannot be tolerated as it is an affront to the real survivors of sexual assault.”

While the case has ben dropped, neither party received any financial gain.
