Queen Naija To Embark On North American Tour This Fall

Queen Naija, R&B’s latest student of the game, will embark on her first country-wide musical voyage, cleverly named The Birth of Queen Najia Tour.

Announced Tuesday (Sept. 11), the “Karma” singer will peruse over 20 cities this fall in support of her eponymous breakout EP. Naija kicks off her tour Oct. 29 at The National in Richmond, Virginia and concludes Dec. 15 at Soma Side Stage in San Diego.

The 22-year old Detroit native has transformed into 2018’s biggest breakout R&B stars. Her song “Medicine” which has the become the breakup anthem amongst social media obsessed millennials, became a viral smash earlier this year with 30 million streams on Spotify, 20 million spins on Pandora and its accompanying video garnering 65 million views on YouTube.

Within three weeks of its release, “Medicine” debuted at No. 45 on the Billboard Hot 100, proving her talent can transcend outside of social media.

Naija started a YouTube channel with her husband shortly after her stint on American Idol in 2014. In her vlogs, she would showcase her singing abilities and eventually used them to her advantage.

Najia celebrated the announcement of her tour with fans on social media, where she explained the title’s origins.

“I called it “The Birth of Queen Naija” because this is a new world for me,” she explained.”This is a brand new life. I’ll make this as great as I can for y’all, I might even pull up in Pajamas at some shows. It’s about to be surreal!”

Tickets go on sale this Friday (Sept. 14).
