Black Father Wants An Apology From 'Golf Cart Gail' Who Called Police During His Son's Soccer Game
"Do everything right. Love everybody. And my son, he's like, 'Hey, I just don't understand it.' I don't understand it."
Gerald Jones cried when speaking to reporters about a white woman who called authorities on him while giving his son instructions from the sideline during his soccer game. Yet despite the tears streaming down his face, Jones was adamant that Ginger Williams, mockingly dubbed "Golf Cart Gail" by social media, owes him an apology.
"Anything could have escalated -- me going to jail, my kid seeing me like that," Jones said.
Jones explained he was shouting at his 13-year-old son from the sidelines to not argue with referees It was then the field marshall approached in the golf cart and began scolding 47-year-old Jones also calling the police even after he volunteered to leave the game.
Williams pulled out her cell phone and began recording Jones and the marshall after she alleged to have heard the marshall say, "I no longer feel safe due to your threatening behavior." In the video, the marshall can be heard saying " He just got nasty with me."
Jones said he was racially profiled because the field marshall earlier threw out a white father but didn't call law enforcement.
"I'm working hard every day," said Jones, who is an auctioneer. "Do everything right. Love everybody. And my son, he's like, 'Hey, I just don't understand it.' I don't understand it. Something has to be done. What can be done? I don't know, but it's just too much."
Golf Cart Gail, Hallway Heather, Corner store Caroline and Permit Patty are just the names given to a few white women who've called the police on black men and women for dubious reasons.
