Cardi B Hosts Free Coat Giveaway In Brooklyn
A good deed goes a long way.
Cardi B has made 2018 her year, bringing life into this world, secretly marrying her partner Offset, and etching her name in the history books with three number one hits. This week, the 26-year-old has spread the love by giving away winter coats in Brooklyn.
Thursday (October 18), the Bronx native took a trip outside her beloved borough to visit Brooklyn's Marlboro Houses public housing complex and gifted hundreds of winter coats to residents. The coat drive had initially been arranged by a local designer, but once Bardi caught wind of the event she vowed to stop by.
Unfortunately, due to a scheduling conflict with a photoshoot, Cardi B arrived a few hours late to the event, which was set to begin at 5 p.m. But her tardiness didn't stop fans from waiting in the cold for her for a couple of hours.
"I said, 'I'm pulling up, what's up, I'm in here, let's go," the rapper exclaimed once she finally made it. She stayed to pass out jackets and coats until she ran out.
Cardi B's good deed came with a reward of its own, according to CBS New York, the Marlboro Houses gifted the rapper with a symbolic key to the Marlboro Houses.
The coat drive took place just one day after Cardi B appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to talk about her motherhood and a possible political future.
