Ice-T Arrested After Driving Through NYC Bridge Toll
The actor was arrested for toll evasion and an unregistered vehicle.
Ice-T was reportedly arrested on Wednesday (Oct. 24) after he blew through the George Washington Bridge toll going into to New York City, TMZ reports. The Law & Order: SVU star was obtained by Port Authority authorities for toll evasion.
According to police reports, Ice-T attempted to go through the toll in the E-ZPass lane, which is designated for drivers who prepay tolls with a transmitter device. Ice-T unknowingly drove through the toll before he was promptly pulled over by police.
In addition to going through the toll, cops discovered that Ice's McLaren sports car was not registered. He was arrested for evading a toll and they gave him a ticket for driving an unregistered vehicle.
As Ice-T tells it, he simply forgot to bring his E-ZPass with him that days, according to TMZ. He reportedly has seven of them in his other cars but forgot to put it in the McLaren because it was fairly new.
The actor was released the same day in just enough time to make it to the set of Law & Order: SVU.
It's unclear if Ice will receive a fine for toll evasion or the unregistered car. He may want to make sure he gets that E-ZPass before he crosses city lines again.
