Jeremih And Ty Dolla $ign’s Joint Album ‘MihTy’ Gets Release Date
After lighting up the R&B world this past summer with their 80s soul/funk-sampled jam “The Light,” Jeremih and Ty Dolla $ign are joining forces to release their long-teased joint album, MihTy, on Friday (Oct. 26).
The duo also released a new single—with another anime-inspired artwork for the cover—a woozy, mid-tempo number titled “Going Thru Some Thangz,” where the duo deliver haunting falsetto runs.
MihTy will mark the first collaboration album for Jeremih while Dolla $ign released an EP with Wiz Khalifa in 2015. Jeremih’s last album, Late Nights, came out nearly three years ago. He first worked with Dolla $ign on the songs “Don’t Tell ‘Em” and “Impatient.”
In promotion of the album, the duo will perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday (Oct. 22). The R&B artists first announced the MihTy project at the top of 2018. Dolla $ign said in May the LP would drop in June. The R&B singers reportedly worked on 60 tracks for the project but managed to narrow it down to 14 songs.
Dolla $ign told Beats 1’s Zane Lowe, “Next month, I’m dropping a whole other project with me and my brother, Jeremih,” the “That’s like a full-length album. I’m so excited for that one. We did it with my bro, Hitmaka. He produced the whole shit, so it’s like a consistent album of bangers.”
