Jim Jones Charged With Five Felonies, Faces “Up To Decades” In Prison
Jim Jones has officially been charged with five felonies stemming from a June 2018 arrest, including three counts of possession of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of a firearm. If convicted on all charges, the musician reportedly faces ‘up to decades’ in prison.
According to TMZ, the Diplomats MC was busted earlier this year in Georgia after being arrested during a cop chase. The car he was reportedly a passenger in came to a stop after it hit a deputy’s vehicle. After searching the car, officials found “marijuana, oxycodone, Percocet, vape cartridges and 2 loaded pistols.” One of the pistols was reportedly stolen, and there was also cash in the vehicle.
None of the four people in the car initially admitted that the items were theirs, so everyone was arrested. Jones was later released on a $7,000 bail. When police questioned why the car didn’t immediately stop after being pulled over, Jones said that the driver was acting “incoherent.”
His troubles haven’t slowed down his musical work. In September, Jones announced the track list for the Diplomats’ reunion project, which will of course feature songs from Jones, Juelz Santana and Cam’ron.
Jones is scheduled to be arraigned for his crimes later this month.
