Travis Scott, Chance The Rapper, And More To Perform At Mac Miller’s Charity Concert
Friends and fans are continuing to celebrate the life and legacy of Mac Miller, who died suddenly on Sept. 7. After expressing their grief on social media, a group of past collaborators and musical friends are teaming up to put on a charity event that will honor the rapper. In addition to remembering Mac for his contributions to the genre, it will also benefit the late rapper’s nonprofit organization, The Mac Miller Circles Fund.
A flyer for the show was released on Tuesday (Oct. 2). An all-star lineup including Travis Scott, Chance the Rapper, Anderson .Paak, SZA, Schoolboy Q, Ty Dolla $ign, Vince Staple, Miguel, John Mayer, and more will be performing at the charity event. Thundercat and J.I.D will also be joining the lineup. The two artists were originally supposed to appear on Mac’s tour in support of his latest album Swimming. The tour was subsequently cancelled following news of the rapper’s death.
Many of the artists named were early friends of Mac. Vince Staples, SZA, and Schoolboy Q were some of the first to share heartwarming stories of their interactions with Mac when they were up-and-coming artists.
Proceeds will go to The Mac Miller Circles Fund, which is an organization that provides “programming, resources and opportunities to youth from underserved communities.”
As previously reported, Mac Miller passed away of an apparent drug overdose. In the wake of his passing, fans held a memorial in his hometown of Pittsburgh.
Mac Miller’s celebration of life concert will be held on Halloween (Oct. 31) at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. For more information regarding tickets, head over to the official website here.
