Meek Mill Joins Cast For Jada Pinkett Smith’s ’12 O’Clock Boys’ Film
As he prepares to jump back into the music scene, Meek Mill will also grace the silver screen in the forthcoming 12 O’Clock Boys film. According to Deadline, the feature will star Teyonah Parris (Survivor’s Remorse), Will Catlett (Love Is), and more.
With a script initially written by Oscar-winner Barry Jenkins (Moonlight) and produced by Jada Pinkett Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment, the film takes its cues from a 2014 documentary of the same name. Directed by Lofty Nathan, viewers follow Pug, a 13-year-old Baltimore kid with a love of dirt bikes that extends beyond the thrill of tricks and speed.
In a past VIBE interview, Nathan revealed that Mill was a fan of the documentary. “A lot of the writers are obviously connected with him and I think he’s got a whole lot of love for the whole Baltimore situation,” Nathan said. “We’ve met a few times. I don’t know about a sequel, but I think he likes Pug in the movie.” Now, that adaptation is in the works.
Mill is no stranger to the dirt bike culture within major cities like New York City, Baltimore, and his native Philadelphia. Although he’s landed before a judge concerning his use of dirt bikes, this new move serves as a turning point in his entertainment career.
