Watch Vic Mensa’s Alleged XXXTentacion Diss At The 2018 BET Hip-Hop Awards

Music News

The 2018 BET Hip-Hop Awards is here and it’s causing a lot of conversation. Vic Mensa stirred the pot when he delivered a freestyle  on Oct. 16, that seemed to take aim at XXXTentacion’s abusive past.

During the cypher, Vic said: “Only time you bear arms is in a wife beater, loser/Your favorite rapper is an abuser,” which seems to be a jab at X, who was accused of abusing his then-pregnant girlfriend.

Despite backlash from fans – who took offense of the rapper mentioning X after he was murdered earlier this year – the Chicago native stood by his comments in a video he shared on social media.

“Recently, I did a freestyle for the BET Award cypher addressing and condemning rappers who unabashedly abuse women and those who stand up for them and even call them legends,” Mensa said. “I stand behind those statements.”

He added in the caption: “Protect women. Domestic & sexual abuse are not excusable because you have talent or you are troubled. With that said I was not aware his mother would be in attendance & I offer her my deepest condolences.”

While Vic’s freestyle could’ve been directed at X, it also might’ve been a jab at Tekashi 6ix9ine, who is accused of having sexual relations with a 13-year-old. Tekashi and Vic have also exchanged words throughout the year.

You be the judge. Watch the freestyle above.
