Jim Carrey Roasting Ted Cruz Is Our Favorite Song

Jim Carrey’s underlying artistic talent hasn’t sat well with Texas Senator Ted Cruz, who was at the end of a scorching zinger through social media.

The two went back and forth Monday (Nov. 5) after Carry shared his latest painting. The watercolor-like illustration depicted Cruz as a vampire being eradicated by sunlight. “Go Beto! Go Democrats! Vote like there’s no tomorrow,” Carrey tweeted in support of Cruz’s opponent Democratic Rep. Beto O’Rourke. “Let’s make this Tuesday like the end of every great vampire movie. Pull back the curtains and let the sunshine turn all those bloodsuckers to dust.”

Cruz, not a fan of the painting, tried to give a snarky response but the jokes fell very flat. “Hollywood liberals all in for Beto,” Cruz tweeted. “But (self-described socialist) Jim Carrey made a mistake here:  Vampires are dead, and everyone knows the dead vote Democrat…”

Then this happened:

The “Kidding” star’s response included references Cruz’s weird alliance to President Donald Trump. During the 2016 presidential race, Trump made remarks about Cruz’s wife, Goldman Sachs investment manager Heidi Cruz. Trump also nicknamed him “Lying Cruz” and infamously accused Cruz’s father of being apart of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The two have now found common Republican ground in their “friendship.”

Meanwhile, Carrey has continued to encouraging voting through his beautiful artwork.
