Arguably, 90s R&B is the pinnacle of greatness for the musical genre. The singers, songwriting, lyrics and the feeling many received while listening to their favorites artist or group helped propel the genre to legendary status.
During Sunday night's (Nov. 26) airing of the Soul Train Awards, the best in soul music received their flowers, while those in attendance and watching from home basked in the glory of it all.
While tributing those of the past, 90s crooner Jon B took to the stage donning an emerald green velvet suit and serenaded the crowd with his Babyface-written hits "Someone to Love" and "They Don't Know."
Not wasting a bit of energy strolling down memory lane, Jon B then introduced his fellow R&B brethren Donell Jones who sang his hit "Where I Wanna Be" and "U Know What's Up."
The evening was chock full of memorable moments including this year's soul cypher, which featured BJ The Chicago Kid, Luke James, Queen Naija and Kelly Price along with a showstopping performance for past Soul Train Awad host, Erykah Badu. Badu who was honored with the 2018 legend award.
